Es ist leider eine extrem mühsame Knorzerei, auf den Proliants die Hardware-Überwachung zum Laufen zu bekommen.
ein Bericht aus 2010:
Unter Suse 10.x und 11.1/32bit liefen die snmp daemons auf Anhieb. Ab der 11.4 /64bit lief es nicht mehr, jedenfalls bei mir. Die Opensuse Version 11.4/X86_64 läuft bereits mit XEN 4.01 als DOM-0 auf dem Proliant DL385, stabil und performant, wie versprochen. Die VMs laufen alle unter Opensuse 11.4/64 auch relativ stabil mit ein paar Macken, die aber an der (meiner) Konfiguration liegen müssen.
Jetzt also ein letzter Versuch mit SLES 11 X86_64 als DOM-0, damit die HPASM Module endlich ihren Dienst tun, selbst wenn dort XEN 3.4 läuft. Basis ist einer unserer DL385 mit 4 Kernen und 8 Giga Speicher sowie 6 x 72 Giga Platten. Fazit - es hatte nicht geklappt.

Geplant war hier : Diesmal keine weiteren Schönheitsreparaturen, erst mal das HPASM testen.
Zwei Dateien habe ich von HP geholt:
hp-health-8.7.0.22-22.sles11.x86_64.rpm
hp-snmp-agents-8.7.0.23-18.sles11.x86_64.rpm
Auch die müssen auf den neuen XEN Server, aber in /opt/ und dort werden die dann installiert.
Das sieht dan aber so aus:

Unter SLES 11 haben sie auch nicht funktioniert ????
Darum hatte ich alle zeitaufwendigen Versuche mit SLES 11 - (die 2011er Version) abgebrochen und gleich mit der 12.1 angefangen.
Dazu hatte ich mir die Libraries geholt: libsnmp15-32bit-5.4.2.1-11.2.1.x86_64.rpm
Normal lassen die sich aber auch nicht installieren, sie wollen irgendwelchen alten "Schmodder" sehen, der aber das gesamte 12.1er System "verbiegen" würde.-
Also: die brutale Methode ist folgende:

Die Option heißt nämlich "--nodeps" : also keine Abhängigkeiten erzwingen. Jetzt mal sehen.

Die HP Software ist scheinbar so speziell, ....
daß sie einfach nicht mehr zu Laufen zu bekommen ist. Über google findet manauch nichts mehr und auf den HP Foren Seiten hatte ich auch nichts gefunden.

jetzt rennt er mit einer von 4 CPUs mit 100 % und hört nicht mehr auf.
Das ist vielleicht ein Unsinn.

Gefunden bei der Version 8.6.0 vom 10.Sept.2010 für SLES 11
Prerequisites:
The hp-health and hp-snmp-agents run as 32 bit applications in the x86_64 environment. The Linux kernel 32 bit compatibility must be enabled (usual default for Linux) and the 32 bit compatibility libraries must be present.
To get the list of all dependency files for hp-health, type:
rpm –qp –requires hp-health-< version >.rpm

Installation:
Login as the system administrator (root), download the RPM to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.
To install the package type:

To check whether the package is loaded properly type:
/etc/init.d/hp-health status
